Lt. General Sengupta takes over 14 Corps

Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta took over as the General Officer Commanding of the coveted Fire And Fury Corps from Lt Gen PGK Menon. On assuming command, the General Officer exhorted all ranks to continue working with soldierly commitment & zeal.

Lt. General Anindya Sengupta took over as the General Officer Commanding of 14 Corps from Lt. General PGK Menon on January 5, 2022. 14 Corps has the responsibility of Ladakh Sector. Lt. General Sengupta was commissioned into the Punjab Regiment in June 1987 and is an alumni of the National Defence Academy, the Defence Services Staff College, the Army War College and the National Defence College. Since the stalemate on May 20, 2022 India & China have been carrying out talks at multiple levels to work out disengagement & de-escalation. Lt. General Menon led the last few rounds of talks with his counterpart from China's PLA. Lt. General Sengupta was part of the Indian delegation during the 13th round of talks which ended in a stalemate. The 14th round of talks are expected to take place on January 12, 2022.
